The long-awaited Cobra Kai series debuts on YouTube Red

The series is a direct sequel to the original four Karate Kid films and picks up 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament.

Johnny Lawrence, the former star pupil of the Cobra Kai dojo, is now a struggling handyman haunted by his past. Daniel LaRusso, his former rival and the current owner of the Miyagi-Do dojo, is now a successful businessman.

The two men's paths cross once again when Johnny reopens the Cobra Kai dojo and starts teaching a new generation of students. Daniel, fearing that Johnny will corrupt his students with the same ruthless tactics that he learned from his former sensei, John Kreese, decides to reopen the Miyagi-Do dojo and start teaching again.

The first season of Cobra Kai consists of 10 episodes and is available to stream on YouTube Red. The series has been praised for its well-written characters, exciting action sequences, and nostalgic appeal.
